A Batting Powerhouse
The first and foremost is their batting. RCB has been a batting powerhouse in the IPL for the last 15 years. They have always come with a bang in every IPL in terms of batting. This time too, if we talk about 2024, they have bought Rajat Patidar, who is in very good form now that he has played for India. And the biggest thing is that he brings depth to their batting till number six, which is something that not many teams have.
This time they have also bought Dinesh Karthik, although his last season was not so good. But still, if Karthik is in form this time, the first five can take them to the play-offs. And we have seen many teams in the IPL reach the play-offs only because one side is strong.
Hyderabad has been the biggest example of this. Not for the last few years, but before that, Hyderabad’s fast bowling used to be good and on the basis of that, the Hyderabad team used to qualify. Hyderabad would have gone to the play-offs, so that story is going to remain with RCB.

Faf du Plessis, who is their captain, his captaincy and leadership are the second big strength of RCB. Du Plessis has got a lot of experience in international cricket. Of course, he does not have that much experience of captaincy in the IPL because earlier he used to play in Chennai Super Kings, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, so he never got the chance to captain.
But the decision taken by RCB and the captaincy he has shown in the last three years has been very fruitful for them. But even if du Plessis is not in form, RCB still have another experienced captain, Virat Kohli. Kohli is one of the greatest captains if we talk about win percentage in Indian cricket.
