A big breaking update are coming regarding the season 17 of Indian Premier League i.e. TATA IPL 2024, where Kolkata Knight Riders team has got a big blow even before the start of IPL 2024.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ brilliant explosive opener batsman Jasan Roy have already been out before the start of IPL 2024. He has been rolled out from IPL 2024. He has withdrawn his name from IPL 2024.
Jason Roy will not play in IPL 2024 due to his personal due to which Kolkata Knight Riders team has also announced his replacement. In his place, Phil Salt, England’s brilliant explosive batsman and wicket keeper, has been included in the team.
Let us tell you that Phill Salt has had a very good performance in the T-20 format. Phil Salt is currently at number two in the latest ICC T-20 rankings, while before this Phil Salt was a part of the Delhi Capitals team last year, but the performance was not of that kind and did not come at that level due to which, Delhi Capitals had released him from their team and he had given his name in IPL 2024 auction but he went unsold, no team had shown interest but now finally he has returned in IPL 2024.
Kolkata Knight Riders has bought him for Rs 1.5 crore and included him in the team as a replacement of Jason Roy. Now there were only two-keepers batsmen in the team of Kolkata Knight Riders. there were not many wicket-keeping options now with the arrival of Slat, wicket-keeping option has also come in Kolkata Knight Riders team.
Earlier in the team, only Rahmanullah Gurbaz was there as a wicket-keeper batsman and KS Bharat was the 2nd wicket-keeper. So, if earlier one of the wicket-keeper had got injured or due to some other reasons, there was a bar. Then the second wicket-keeper batsman would have been forced to play whether his form was good or not but options have come in this team with the arrival of Phil Slat the team has become quite balanced. If there was an Indian wicket keeper batsman then the team would have got a little more balance for IPL 2024.
But still, this is a good decision of Kolkata knight Riders team before the IPL 2024.
